  Joseph H. "Herb" Engle 
  
  LEBANON Joseph H. "Herb" Engle, 64, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Good 
  Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Jean L. (Martel) Engle, to whom he 
  was married for 29 years. Born in Nuremberg, Germany on September 14, 1947, 
  Joseph was the son of the late Joseph "Yuck" and Maria (Schnapp) Engle. He was 
  a retired refrigeration mechanic at G.F. Bowman Inc. for over 30 years, and 
  also retired from Cedar Haven Nursing Home, where he worked for over 5 years. 
  Herb was a 1965 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. He enjoyed car 
  racing, fishing, the Phillies and Eagles, socializing, and he loved his pets. 
  Herb was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, 
  he is survived by a niece, Jennifer. He was preceded in death by a sister, 
  Susan Engle Bemesderfer. Memorial service Thursday at 10:30 am at Indiantown 
  Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations 
  may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon Co., 150 N. Ramona Road, 
  Myerstown, PA 17067. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the 
  arrangements.
