Lentz Ensminger, 91, of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, formerly of 8 Cherry Lane, Palmyra, died Friday, September 9, 2011, in the home. She was the wife of Warren L. Lentz, who died in 1968, and ,John E. Ensminger, who died in 1999. Born in South Lebanon Twp., on May 16, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Katie Bucher Crouse. She and her first husband were self-employed farmers in South Lebanon Twp. Esther was a member of Midway Church of the Brethren, Lebanon, where she was a member of the Character Builders Sunday School Class, the Church Choir, and served on the Church Kitchen Committee. She was very active in her Farm Women Group, a volunteer cook at church camps in Pennsylvania and Virginia, and was an international traveler with her second husband. Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. Lentz of Rexmont and Roger G. Lentz of Palmyra; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Herman Crouse; and a sister, Hilda Leffler. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Midway Church of the Brethren Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
