M. shabodeho@aol.com March 6, 2011, 4:31 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on March 6, 2011 Kenneth D. Farst PALMYRA Kenneth D. Farst, 78, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Iva F. Ober, to whom he would have been married 55 years on April 7, 2011. Born in Lawn, Pa., on April 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Amos and Florence Eckert Farst. Kenneth served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict as a Gunners Mate Third Class and was honorably discharged in 1954. He worked for 44 years as a bean roaster and factory foreman for Hershey Foods Corporation. He attended Rexmont Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra VFW, Hershey American Legion, Lebanon Moose Lodge, Polka Pals, and was a lifetime member of the Palmyra Fire Co. Kenneth is survived by his wife, and two daughters, Kendra, wife of Bruce Sigurdson of Winchester, Va., and Karen, wife of Marty Froschle of Trevose; three sisters, Marie Krantz of Mansfield, N.J., Velma Loy of Camp Hill, and Janet Peterson of Westminster, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by four brothers, Troy, Larry, Carl, and Harold Farst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will in Grand View Memorial Park.
