Frankhouser, 95, passed away at Cornwall Manor on Monday, May 16, 2011. He was the husband of the late Eleanor S. Frankhouser who passed away October 14, 1987. He was born in Reading, on May 4, 1916, son of the late Earle M. Frankhouser Sr. and Bella Dorwart Frankhouser. Mr. Frankhouser was a Civil Engineer and retired from The Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He oversaw projects in West Africa and Brazil. He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army, serving in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Germany. He was an avid Penn State and Phillies fan. Earle was a member of Mt. Gretna United Methodist Church and Stanley Goodwin Masonic Lodge #648 in Bethlehem. He was a former member of Mt. Gretna Boro Council and Rotary Club in Mt. Gretna and Morgantown, Pa. Surviving are his daughters, Doris F. Glick and her companion, Harry K. Jowers, and Nancy F. Bowman and her husband, Donald Bowman, all of Mt. Gretna; grandchildren, Jennifer E. Glick and her husband, David E, Highfield of Phoenix, Ariz., Hillary F. McCartney and her husband, W. Scott McCartney of Lansdale, Bradley M. Smoyer of Los Angles, Calif., and Amy E. Smoyer of Mt. Gretna; great-grandchildren, Robert and Samuel Highfield of Phoenix Ariz., Audrey and Abigail McCartney of Lansdale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Cornwall Manor, Zerr Chapel, 1 Boyd St., Cornwall, Pa., 17016, with his pastor Rev. Michael S. Remel and Rev. Glen Esler, Chaplain at Cornwall Manor officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Earle's memory to Mt. Gretna United Methodist Church. The Rohland Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
