Chestnut St., died in the Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and given onto the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2011. He was the husband of Jean E. Heagy Funk, to whom he was married 53 years. Born in South Lebanon, on May 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lucy Witman Funk. He was retired from Bethlehem Mines, formerly Millard's Quarry, Annville, and was also employed by Cornwall Ore Mines and Arthur Funk and Sons. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea. Wayne attended Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona, was a member of the Annville-Cleona Lions Club and the Annville American Legion, volunteered for Lebanon Valley Rails to Trails, and enjoyed yard work, planting flowers, and helping others. He always looked forward to his trips every year to the Contrary Club, Seeley's Bay, Canada. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Wendy L., wife of Peter Gingrich of Lebanon, and Dawn L., wife of David A. Clark of Cleona; four grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Gingrich, and Joshua and Brett Clark; three brothers, Walter Funk of Lebanon, Herman Funk of Orlando, Fla., and Richard Funk of Annville; two sisters, Gerry DeMars of Howell, Mich., and Dorothy "Dottie" West, wife of Harold Mondol of Lansing, Mich.; and a mother-in-law, Helen B. Ebersole Heagy of Fontana. He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry N. Funk, and two infant brothers, Robert and Harry Funk. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave., Cleona. Interment will be in Mt. Annville Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville, and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
