  Alfred R Gable 
  LEBANON
  
  Alfred R. Gable, 82, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at home. He was the 
  husband of the late Shirley (Carpenter) Gable.  Born in Lebanon on February 
  12, 1929, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Werner) Gable.  Prior 
  to retirement, he was employed for more than 30 years by the former Morgantown 
  Mines and later worked for the former Millards Quarry in Annville. Alfred 
  served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing and taking walks and was an avid 
  NASCAR and Phillies fan. He is survived by a daughter, Tammy S. Gable, of 
  Lebanon; a son, Alfred Jr. and his wife Jenny of Lebanon; five grandchildren, 
  Samantha, Chantalle, Thomas, Shalene, & Derek; a great-granddaughter, Olivia; 
  and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen 
  White and Dot Granger; and three brothers, Ted, Henry, and Bill. Services will 
  be private at the convenience of family.  Thompson Funeral Home is entrusted 
  with the arrangements.
