  Wayne R. Gassert
  
  Wayne R. Gassert, 79, of Lebanon passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 
  his residence. He was the husband of Arlene V. (Spitler) Gassert.  Wayne was 
  born in Lebanon, PA on September 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Paul and 
  Cora (Kline) Gassert.  He worked for Quaker Alloy for 28 years and for 17 
  years he owned his own business, Northside Recreation in Lebanon and also The 
  Storage Shed in Myerstown. Wayne was involved in community organizations and 
  he served in the US Army during the Korean War. 
  In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 step daughters, Phyllis Gundrum, 
  of Ventura, CA and Susan Gundrum, of Redondo, CA ; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth 
  Meador, of Redondo, CA and Edward Meador, of Harrisburg, also 1 sister, Betty 
  Simmons, of Green Valley, AZ.   He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Verna 
  Martzall and 2 brothers, Paul and Ray Gassert.   Funeral Services at the 
  convenience of the family. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with the 
  arrangements.
