M. shabodeho@aol.com September 30, 2011, 11:18 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on September 25, 2011 Marijane Gates LEBANON Marijane Gates, 86, formerly of Lebanon and Harrisburg, died Saturday, September 24, 2011, in Spang Crest Manor. Born in Lebanon on February 15, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna Snyder Gates. She was an operator and secretary for Bell of PA and then did clerical work for the Pennsylvania State Fish Commission. She was a 1943 graduate of Lebanon High School. Marijane was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Harrisburg, and a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon. She was a violinist in the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and was an oil painting artist. Surviving are a brother, John "Pete", husband of Betty Gates of Lebanon; nieces, Eileen Sidelnick of Lebanon, Jane Wary of Downingtown, Jacqueline Noll of Kleinfeltersville, Judy Scott of Lancaster, and Susan Dishong of Rexmont; and a nephew, John Gates, Jr. of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Heister; and nephews, John and Frank Heister. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011, from St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 6th and Chestnut Sts., Lebanon, at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be held in Cornwall Cemetery. No viewing or visitation. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
