Gottshall, 85, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont. He was married to Ruth B. (Bucher) Gottshall for 50 years prior to her death in October, 1999. He was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1925, in Royersford, to the late Nathaniel and Mary (Zeigler) Gottshall. He was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Charlie worked a variety of jobs in farming, electrical work, construction, and auto repair during his lifetime. He loved to work with his hands. When there was a job to be done he would work tirelessly until it was complete. In retirement years, he enjoyed mowing lawns and blowing snow to help his neighbors. He is survived by three sons, Steven and wife, Michele of Palmyra, and Randall and Todd, both of Annville; six grandchildren, Christopher Gottshall of St. Paul, Minn., Kurt Gottshall and wife, Kendra of Mt. Joy, Aaron Gottshall and fiancee Sandra Tillack of Columbus, N.J., Angela, wife of Brian Hepner of Hummelstown, Carla Gottshall, companion of Ryan Lutz of Hummelstown, and Kimberly Gottshall of Palmyra; and three great-grandchildren, Tanner Gottshall, Addison Lutz, and Alivya Hepner. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Gottshall of Missouri; and two sisters, Anna Heinly of Lititz and Elva Finkbiner of Annville. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 N. Chestnut St., Palmyra 17078, with the Rev. Dennis M. Lohr officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at the South Annville Cemetery, Annville. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078, have been entrusted with the services.
