Gurganus, 61, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at her home. She was the wife of John P. Gurganus, Jr. and on April 11, 2011, they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. Born in Lebanon, on May 29, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. "Hick" and Jane L. Moyer Lightner. For a number of years she had worked for the Laboratory at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was also a sales consultant for Princess House Products, a school secretary, and was very involved at the former Grace Christian School in Myerstown. For several years she was an Administrative Assistant for Keller Bros. in Buffalo Springs. Kaye had been a member of New Beginnings Grace Brethren Church in Myerstown, and in her earlier years was actively involved in the Jonestown Bible Church, where she sang in the trio called the "Joy Bells" as a teenager. She was an avid Phillies and NASCAR fan and enjoyed singing, crafting, crocheting, helping others, and especially serving the Lord. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Shelly L., wife of Christopher Roper of Edgewood, Md., and Shannon R., wife of Ryan Peeler of Lebanon; brothers, Dale, husband of Shirley Lightner, and Bruce Lightner, both of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Sydney Seager, Isabella Roper, Chase Roper, Jessalyn Carpenter, Emma Peeler, and Wyatt Peeler. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Jonestown Bible Church, 14 Silvertown Road, Jonestown. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 and Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
