M. shabodeho@aol.com March 23, 2011, 9:19 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on March 21, 2011 Eugene O. Haas LEBANON Eugene O. Haas, 81, Lebanon, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Helen V. Good Haas, to whom he would have been married for 50 years on May 28th. Born in Lebanon on July 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Leroy and Tillie Bucks Haas, Sr. Until recently, he was a life long resident of the Hebron area in Lebanon. Gene was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He owned and operated the Haas Service Station in Hebron and after retirement he made and sold potato chips at the 9th Street Farmers Market in Lebanon. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, Lebanon, where he and his wife served on the Financial Committee for 20 years. He was a life member of the Hebron Fire Co. Gene enjoyed hunting and attending antique sales. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Evelyn McCorkle, Coatesville and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Haas, Jr. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gene's funeral from Hebron United Methodist Church, 451 E. Walnut St, Lebanon on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at the church. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements Entrusted to Ruffner-Porterfield Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 890 Isabel Dr, Lebanon.
