Hale, 59, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 15, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Hale. He was born Thursday, January 10, 1952, in Red Bank, N.J., to the late Roy L. and Nan Rosemary (Pitzer) Hale. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, served in Vietnam, enjoyed reading anything related to history, watching movies, and had an appreciation for music, especially smooth jazz. Most of all, he was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by a daughter, Jessica S. McCoy and husband, Timothy of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Keegan and Zane McCoy; two sisters, Mary L. Demler of Kleinfeltersville, and Ann L. Harris and husband, Ray of Alabama; six nieces, Lisa Kern and husband, Michael of Lebanon, Melanie Hale and partner, Kathleen Youtz of Cleona, Angie, Debbie, Kimberly, and Lillian; and two great-nephews, Michael and James Kern. He was predeceased by a brother, James L. Hale. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
