  PINE GROVE Joan M. Hayes, 73, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011, in Laurel 
  Center Nursing Home in Hamburg. Born July 15, 1938, in Pottsville, she was a 
  Daughter of the late Melvin T. and Laura Lehman Powell. She was a graduate of 
  Minersville High School and a member of Echo Valley Grace Brethren Church. 
  Joan had been employed as a Supervisor for reserve pay at Indiantown Gap 
  Military Reservation and was a member of the American Society of Military 
  Comptrollers. She worked at the Lebanon V. A. Hospital as an L.P.N. She loved 
  playing Bingo and was a Phillies Phanatic. Preceding her in death were her 
  first husband, Franklin T. Kintzel on February 6, 1969, and her second husband 
  of 30 years, John L. "Jack" Hayes on April 28, 2003. Surviving are two 
  daughters, Kathy wife of Brian Cooper of Molleystown, Jennifer wife of Kevin 
  Frantz of Oley; two sons, Franklin and wife Brenda Kintzel, Brian and wife 
  Faith Kintzel both of Pine Grove; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; 
  and one brother, Eugene Powell of Chambersburg. Memorial services will be held 
  at H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rod 
  Finster officiating. Interment will follow in the Church of the Brethren, Pine 
  Grove.
