Herman, Sr., 90, formerly of Harding St., died Saturday, August 20, 2011, in Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Lillian M. Miller Herman, with whom he celebrated a 68th wedding anniversary in March. He was born in Lebanon on October 18, 1920, a son of the late John H. and Kathryn "Katie" Kurtz Herman. He served his country during WWII under General Eisenhower and was retired from the Industrial Casting Company in Myerstown with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Friendship Fire Company, and Lebanon VFW Post #23. He enjoyed camping, playing bingo and watching the Phillies. In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Earl W. Herman, Jr. and wife, Judith, Lebanon; Linda L. Herman, Lebanon; David D. Herman, Sr. and wife, Debra, Lebanon; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline wife of Warren Gettle, Lebanon; and nieces and nephews. His was preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Frank, John and Thomas Herman; and a sister, Kathryn Orendo. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042. There will be a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in the Suedburg Church of God Cemetery.
