  Eleanor F. Hess 
  
  LANCASTER Eleanor F. Hess, 85, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on 
  Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the Mennonite Home. She was the wife of John W. 
  Hess, who died in 1989. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late 
  William A. and Ruth K. (Gehret) Marks. Mr. and Mrs. Hess were the owners of 
  Simon Candy Company in Elizabethtown. Also a registered nurse, Eleanor was a 
  graduate of the University Pennsylvania. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, 
  cooking, and swimming in her pool. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl K., 
  wife of David B. Deck of Mount Joy, and Sandra K., wife of Ricky L. Sattazahn 
  of Lebanon; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a brother, 
  William A., Jr., husband of Virginia Marks of Levittown. A funeral service will 
  be held on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 N. 
  Market St., Elizabethtown, at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call on Monday at the 
  funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take 
  place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions 
  may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
