Hoerner HERSHEY Leon Cooper Hoerner, 92, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Courtyard Gardens at The Middletown Home. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary (Hallman) Hoerner, on Sunday, August 5, 2001. He was born on Saturday, July 27, 1918, in Hershey, to the late Ralph Allen and Leah (Cooper) Hoerner. He retired from Hershey Foods after 42 years of faithful service, enjoyed farming, and spending time with his family at the camps in Perry County. He is survived by two sons, Allen P. and wife, Margaret of Hershey, and Ralph A. and wife, Donna of Hershey; five grandchildren, Deborah Eisenhour, Theresa Weinhold, Scott Hoerner, Brian Hoerner, and Joanne Miller; seven great- grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Miriam Shiremen and Alberta Simmons. All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Hummelstown Cemetery, Hummelstown, with the Rev. Johnnie W. Lengel officiating. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
