Hummelbaugh PALMYRA Betty Jean (DeHart) Hummelbaugh, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at The Lebanon Valley Brethren Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, James A. Hummelbaugh. She was born Monday, March 14, 1927 in Penn Township, Lancaster County to the late Martin S. and Edna (Conelly) DeHart. She graduated from Camp Hill High School, was a member of Palmyra First E.C. Church, and worked for the Federal Government. She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, gardening, and children. She was a colorful, vibrant woman, full of life and love. She enjoyed spending time and sharing her love with her family, and extending that love to shut-ins and friends with hello and birthday cards and letters. Her bright wardrobe was second only to the brightness of her friendly smile. She will be missed by many. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Janet DeHart and Doris DeHart Martin both of Palmyra; four nieces, Sharron Smith and husband, David of Palmyra, Debbie Parker and husband, Richard of Annville, Brenda Klaczak and husband Robert of Palmyra, Janell Ault and husband, James of Palmyra; several loving great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Martin L. and Joseph H. DeHart. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, DiMatteo Worship Center, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078, with Chaplain Norman D. Yeater officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
