Kach Jr. FLAGLER BEACH, FL John Steven Kach, Jr. (Johnny or Jack), formerly of Myerstown, and living in Flagler Beach, Fla., since August 2001, passed away in his home in Plantation Oaks on Friday, August 19, 2011. Born May 5, 1933, in Charleroi, he was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Kach, and his brother, Jerry. Surviving his death are his loving wife of 32 3/4 years, Gail GeibKach; daughter, Lynne Ann, wife of Lynn Clapp, and son, John S. Kach, III and wife, Eileen, all living in Belleville, Ill., and son, Bruce Kach and wife, Sharon living in Brentwood, Mo.; a sister, JoAnn McChesney and husband, David who live in Sutton, W.Va.; and his brother Jerry's wife, Beverly, living in Alaska. There are seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He graduated from the Valley Forge Military Academy in 1953 and served proudly in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps. He was active with the Charleroi Boy Scouts as a scout and while his sons were active in scouting. He enjoyed talking to people, traveling, animals, and selling. He was the retired owner/operator of a fundraising company, G & J Ideas, working with his wife Gail and non-profit organizations in 23 states. He was a member of Palm Coast United Methodist Church, where he was active with the Concert Series raising funds for their community concerts. He was also an active member of the Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Award in Lebanon; and the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach, and Kiwanis Club in Myerstown, receiving numerous awards from each organization. He was also active in the Palm Coast Pennsylvania Club until his illness. A service of the celebration of his life will be held at Plantation Oaks Clubhouse, and at a later date at the convenience of his family a graveside burial of his ashes will be in Myerstown. Services are in the care and trust of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
