Born January 3, 1918, in Tamaqua, she was the wife of the late Leroy R. Kahl, daughter of the late Fred and Clara Kamp, and stepmother of the late Hannah Kamp. Survived by daughter, Barbara, wife of Edward Miller, Newmanstown; sons, Russell, husband of Priscilla, Myerstown; Melvin, husband of Audrey, Fla.; Gerald, husband of JoAnn, Richland; Elwood, husband of Brenda, Myerstown; sisters, Esther and Helen and brother, Fred, all of Orwigsburg; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, one great-grandchild and brother, Franklin. She enjoyed bird watching, Bingo, playing cards, search word puzzles and going out to eat, although the best food was made by her and will be missed by all of us. Memorial services will be held on November 19, 2011, at Elias United Church of Christ, at 10 a.m., followed by a luncheon at Risser's in Stouchsburg.
