Kale, 86, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon. He was the husband of Lucille E. (Schell) Kale, who died on December 8, 2008. Born in Lebanon, on February 10, 1925, he was the son of the late William H. and Margaret (Hammer) Kale. A 1942 graduate of Lebanon High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a boiler insulator at Cleaver Brooks, Lebanon, for 30 1/2 years, retiring in 1987. A member of Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown, he was also a member and past president of the Lebanon County Fireman's Assoc. and enjoyed collecting postcards. He is survived by daughter, Susan E. Kale of Harrisburg; son, William H., husband of Mary Kale of Lebanon; grandsons, Peter and Bradley Kale, both of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, William, Charles, Paul, and James Kale; and sisters, Margaret Sowers, Emma Shay, Catherine Wolfe, Vivian Kale, and Edna Kale. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, and Friday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment at Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myerstown.
