  Roger T. Karsnitz 
  
  MYERSTOWN Roger T. Karsnitz, 84, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, at his 
  residence. He was the husband of Louise S. (Swonger) Karsnitz to whom he was 
  married 61 years on August 12, 2011. Born in Lebanon, on September 18, 1927, 
  he was the son of the late George and Miriam (Tice) Karsnitz. He was a 1945 
  graduate of Myerstown High School. and served in the Merchant Marines during 
  WWII. He was co-owner of the Durable Shoe Co., Myerstown, from 1950-1976. He 
  and his son then became owners of the Dauphin Shoe Co., Harrisburg, where he 
  served as vice president of sales from 1980 until his retirement in 1989. He 
  was past president of the Myerstown Rotary Club, past president of the 
  Myerstown Water Authority, where he served for 50 years, and was a member of 
  the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, 
  and golfing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen, 
  wife of Michael Miller of Lebanon; son, Roger, Jr., husband of Shelly Karsnitz 
  of Annville; grandchildren, Brock Karsnitz, Nicole McCracken, and Travis 
  Miller; and two great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held 
  Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. 
  Washington Ave., Myerstown. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Interment 
  will be at the convenience of the family.
