M. shabodeho@aol.com September 15, 2011, 11:08 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on September 13, 2011 Betty Jane Keesey PALMYRA Betty Jane (Shaull) Keesey, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at The Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. She was predeceased in 2007 by her loving husband, John J. Keesey. She was born Monday, November 13, 1922, in York County, to the late Millard R. and Anna F. (Brenneman) Shaull She graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College and taught in the public school system for many years, and then worked as a bookkeeper prior to retirement. She and her husband were members of Spring Creek Church of the Brethren in Hershey; enjoyed bowling, traveling and volunteering at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home. She is survived by a son, Richard L. Keesey and wife, Maryann of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Rebecca A. Freeman and husband, William of Camp Hill; three granddaughters, Meredith Spidel and husband Jared of Downingtown, Adrienne Keesey and fiance, Jeremy Underkoffler of Elizabethtown, Mara Freeman and fiance, Rob Davenport of Camp Hill; two great-grandsons, Isaac Spidel and Tucker Reiber; a great- granddaughter, Elyse Spidel; and a sister, June Stroup of Camp Hill. She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and George Shaull. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, DiMatteo Worship Center, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078, with Chaplain Norman D. Yeater officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Private burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
