Kieffer, Jr., 93, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon. He was the husband of Susie (George) Kieffer, who died in 1948, and Marie K. (Sweinhart) Kieffer, who died in 2007. Born in Lititz, on June 16, 1918, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Stella K. (Buchter) Kieffer. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he worked as a salesman for Knapp Shoes and Watkins Products for over 50 years and retired in 1979 from Sterling Drug, Myerstown. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, where he sang in the choir and played in the handbell choir for many years. He enjoyed gardening and musical activities. He is survived by daughters, Dolores Jeffers of York; Karen wife of Henry Lindermuth of Myerstown, June Long of Myerstown, Brenda wife of David Geib of Lebanon, Charlene wife of James Zimmerman of Myerstown; sons, Kenneth husband of Joyce Kieffer of New Cumberland, Randall husband of Mary Kieffer of Lititz; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jay husband of Shirley Kieffer of Akron and Nevin husband, of Verna Kieffer of Denver; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harry B. and M. Paul Kieffer. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment at Mellingers Union Cemetery, Schoeneck. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
