Kinney, 92, a life-long resident of Annville died Sunday, November 13, 2011, in Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Harlin S. Kinney who died in 2009. Born in Annville on December 9, 1918, she was the daughter of the Harry and Mabel Ebersole Womer. Veneta was a 1936 graduate of Annville High School and also graduated from Lebanon Business College. Prior to and during the first years of her marriage she worked at Fink's Bakery. After her children were out of school, she worked in the Annville/Cleona School District's school cafeteria. She was an active member of Zion E.C. Church, Annville where she was a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Missionary Society. Veneta was also an assistant Girl Scout Leader, a long-time volunteer at the Annville Library, as well as a volunteer for twenty-five years at the ECC Retirement Village in Myerstown. She is survived by a daughter, Jean Kinney of Norwich, Vt.; two grandchildren Greer Krembs and Fritz Krembs, Fritz's wife Kristi and their son, Anton. Much to her delight they were recent visitors. She is survived by her sister, Grace Womer Templin of Orlando, Fla. In addition there is a large extended family - in alphabetical order, the Kinney, Shroyer, and Womer clans, her church family at Zion EC, the Earl and Mary Wolfe family, and the staff and residents of the Personal Care unit at Spang Crest Manor. She was preceded in death by a son, James P. Kinney; and a brother, Gordon Womer. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Zion E.C. Church 710 S. White Oak St., Annville. A luncheon in the church parish hall will follow the memorial service. Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Annville is in charge of the arrangements.
