Kline, 97, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Lebanon Valley Home of the UCC, Annville. He was the husband of the late Kathryn Price Kline. He was born in Rutherford on August 20, 1913, a son of the late John P. and Sallie J. Bittle Kline. He retired in 1978 with 38 ½ years of service as manager of the meat department at Foodland. Erv was an active member of St. Mark's UCC, Lebanon. He was a member and former treasurer of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, member of the York Rite Bodies of Lebanon, Quittaphilla Forest #25 Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Consistory Valley of Harrisburg. He had been an active volunteer at the Lebanon County Historical Society and later at Union Canal Park. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and had lead the effort to restore the large mural at the Lebanon Valley Home. He is survived by daughter in law, Carole Kline, Annville; granddaughters, Susan, wife of Edward Hanula, Palmyra; Gretchen, wife of Terrance Mosby, Palmyra; great grandchildren, Jennifer Gatz, Indiana, PA, Emily Hanula and Nicholas Mosby, Palmyra. He was preceded in death by son, David Kline, brothers, Harry J. and John Kline and sister, Dora Sherman. A private family funeral with a Masonic service conducted by Mt. Lebanon Lodge, #226 F & AM will be held at convenience of the family. Entombment will be held at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Erv's memorial service on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 7 PM from the Chapel of the Lebanon Valley Home of the UCC, 550 E. Main St., Annville with Pastor Michael Klahr officiating. Friends will be received Monday beginning at 6 PM at the chapel.
