Klingler, 90, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Lebanon Valley Home. He was a former resident of Hearthstone Manor in Lebanon. Homer was the husband of the late Catherine I. DiGiacomo Klingler, to whom he was married 62 years. Born in Fredericksburg, on March 22, 1921, he was a son of the late John S., Sr. and Helen Smith Klingler. Homer was a 1940 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a truck driver, retiring from A.E. Twigg, Inc., a local beer distributor at the time, after 41 years of service. Homer and his wife enjoyed traveling and loved their home in Sarasota, Fla. Homer was a member of the Moravian Church of Lebanon. He served one year in the Army prior to WWII and was a life member of the 213th CAA. Homer was a long-time member of the Boy Scouts of American, having served as an adult volunteer in the local Boy Scout Council. He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Bruce E. and Sandra Klingler of Lebanon, James B. and Debra Klingler of Myerstown, Kathie A. and Michael Phillips of Jonestown, and Carol A. and John Klahr of Jonestown. He is survived by his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Kenneth Klingler of Florida, and John S., Jr. and wife, Kathryn Klingler of Lebanon; sister-in- law, Gloria Auman of Lebanon; nieces; nephews; and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Homer was predeceased by his sister, Carrie Mae; and brothers, Lester, Robert, and Richard. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011, in the Moravian Church of Lebanon, 1115 Birch Road, Lebanon, PA 17042. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church with a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery, Annville. The family wishes to acknowledge and appreciates the wonderful care given to their Father by his caregivers at Hearthside and the Lebanon Valley Home.
