Kohler PALMYRA John Howard Kohler, 65, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at The Good Samaritan Hospital following a courageous struggle with ALS. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Natalie (Strohman) Kohler. He was born on February 11, 1946, in Harrisburg, to the late Casper and Dorothy (Farmer) Kohler. He graduated from CD East High School in 1964, Elizabethtown College in 1968, and served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Infantry in Korea during the Vietnam War. He retired from Roadway Express Trucking as Quality of Product Manager after 35 years of service. He was a past Secretary of Palmyra Planning and Zoning Commission and volunteered at the Hershey Auto Museum and the Lebanon VA Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly M. Kohler and her partner, Robert Hill of Julian; a grandson, Max Casper Hill; a brother, Richard Kohler of Selinsgrove; a sister, Sara Fuller and her husband, Charles "Skip" Hetrick of Lebanon; a niece, Meredith Fuller; and nephews, Dan and Mark Hetrick. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
