Kohr, 86, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Warminster Hospice, Abington. He was the husband of Doris DePugh Kohr. They would have celebrated their 61st anniversary on June 10th. Born in Jonestown, on February 23, 1925, he was the son of the late Dawson and Esther Tobias Kohr. He retired from the Naval Air Supply Office in Philadelphia. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He landed shortly after D-Day, and after he was wounded, he joined the GI Show Laughs Inc., as its trombone player and traveled throughout Europe. For over 50 years he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Harrisburg Consistory, the Reading Tall Cedars and the Rajah Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He played with the Lebanon High School Swingsters and also with local dance bands, the Perseverance and Rehrersburg Bands, Rajah Shrine Band and the Tall Cedars Band for over fifty years. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Jay Kohr of Warminster; a daughter, Faye wife of Edward Neff of North Wales; grandchildren, Timothy Kohr, Audrey Kohr and Scott Neff; and a great-grandson, Jayden. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Gerald R. Kohr; and his sister, Dorothy Trielo. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Masonic services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Jonestown.
