M. shabodeho@aol.com November 9, 2011, 8:36 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News from November 1 to November 2, 2011 Edith Beckman Krohn ROCKVILLE, MD Edith Beckman Krohn, 98, formerly of Lebanon, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at her home in Brighton Gardens, Rockville, Md., after having lived her life to the fullest. She was the wife of the late Dr. Harold Krohn, who was the love of her life. She was born in Philadelphia on June 23, 1912 daughter of the late Morris and Pauline Goldman Beckman. She was educated at the University of Pennsylvania and became a clinical psychologist, practicing at the Harrisburg State Hospital for 42 years. She was instrumental in starting the Lebanon County Mental Health & Mental Retardation Association and was also a founder of the Lebanon Community Concert series and the Valley Beach Club pool and golf course. She was widely recognized for her work and was a recipient of the Founders Day Award from Lebanon Valley College. Together with her late husband they were active in many facets of community life in Lebanon, especially the community of friends at Beth Israel Synagogue. Edith is survived by children, Susan Kuner, Alameda, Calif.; Rae Grad, Alexandria, Va.; Dennis Krohn, Clearwater, Fla.; grandchildren, Arlen Gaines, Rebecca Grad, Aaron Grad, Afsal Kuner, Satya Khan, Hannah Krohn; great-grandchildren, Jaden Gaines, Casey Gaines, Marquez Khan and Sophia Kuner. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edith's funeral service Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at 1:00 PM from Ruffner- Porterfield Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 890 Isabel Dr., (next to Quentin Circle), Lebanon with Rabbi Paula Reimers officiating. Interment will be held in Beth Israel Cemetery, Lebanon.
