M. shabodeho@aol.com November 14, 2011, 9:43 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on November 8, 2011 Eugene Clair Landis FLORIDA Eugene (Gene) Clair Landis, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 3, 2011. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marguerite (Peggy) Landis. Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Landis moved to Florida in 1961. Most of Mr. Landis's working career was in sales. He managed the first 7-Eleven store in Bradenton, Fla., and became District Supervisor. He was an ordained minster for the Gospel, holding pastorates in Bradenton, Fla., and Lebanon. He attended Lancaster Bible College and held a Degree of Bachelor of Bible Theology from the International Bible Institute & Seminary, Orlando, Fla. Mr. Landis is survived by his seven adoring sisters, Mrs. Shirley (Earl) Glick, Mrs. Helen Moyer, and Mrs. Judith (Harry) Umbenhauer, all of Lebanon, Mrs. Clara Lee (Stephen) Bell of Lake Water, Fla., Mrs. Gail (Keith) Brightbill, Bradenton, Fla., Mrs. Louise Allen of Apple Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Dawn (William) Logan of Palm Bay, Fla. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Sharon Clark and stepson, Jerry Simpson of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 24 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the First Church of God, 2520 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34205.
