'Mike' Lanham, 86, died Monday, January 10, 2011, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Pauline G. Hess Lanham. He was born June 18, 1924 in Owensboro, Ky., a son of the late James and Ida Mae Quire Lanham. He was employed for over 20 years with Kreider's Shoe Factory in Palmyra. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received a purple heart. Jesse was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Palmyra; Palmyra VFW, Post 6417; Annville American Legion, Post 559 and an avid Phillies fan. He bowled in the Palmyra Church League, Senior's Friday League and also for Kreider's Shoe Factory. He is survived by children, Terry L. husband of Mary Lanham of Palmyra; Ruth Ann wife of Glenn Pond of Angier, N.C.; Neal husband of Tammy Lanham of Melbourne, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Morris of Owensboro, Ky.; brother, Arthur husband of Barbara Lanham of Owensboro, Ky.; loving niece, Joyce Barry. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Lanham and James F. "Cotton" Lanham. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Interment will be made in the Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
