  MYERSTOWN Harold Benjamin Leedy, 87, died Monday, March 14, 2011, in the 
  Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Betty Jane Gundrum Leedy to 
  whom he was married to for 67 years. He was born in Lebanon, on March 5, 1924, 
  a son of the late Lewis and Susanna Weinhold Leedy. Harold retired after 45 
  years of service with UGI in Lebanon. He served in the U.S. Army during World 
  War II as a medic in charge of a Litter Squad with the 168th Infantry Regiment 
  3rd Battalion 34th Division. He was also a recipient of the Purple Heart, 
  Silver Star and Bronze Star. He was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 
  Schaefferstown and a gentleman farmer. Surviving in addition to his wife are 
  daughters, Sylvia Speicher of Schaefferstown; The Rev. Linda Hostetter and 
  husband David of Harrisburg; Susan Ditzler and husband David of Etters; 
  grandchildren, Bob, David, Rebekah, Sarah, Heather and Jessica; 19 great-
  grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Calvin Leedy of Myerstown. 
  He was preceded in death by siblings, Leonard Leedy, Doris Karli, Catherine 
  Smith, Marian Carter, Naomi Thierwechter, Eugene Leedy, AnEdith Bowman, Lewis 
  Leedy, Carmelita Hauer, Burnetta Peffley, Verna Zweier, Leroy Leedy, Isabella 
  Putt and Robert Leedy. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the 
  St. Luke Lutheran Church, 107 E. Main St., Schaefferstown, with a viewing 
  beginning on Friday at 9 a.m. in the church chapel. Interment will be made in 
  the Schaefferstown Cemetery.
