Leffler, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Elsie M. Kramer Leffler, who died on May 28th 2010. Born in Pine Grove, on May 26, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Carrie (Tobias) Leffler. His parents died when he and his sister were very young so he spent most of his childhood in the Pottsville Orphanage Home. Because of his love of animals, in his teen years, he spent much of his free time helping the local veterinary in Pottsville. After graduating from Pottsville High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and married his wife of 56 years. They had many wonderful adventures in several different countries while he served our country. He retired from the Army after 20 years. He then worked as a boiler inspector at Cleaver Brooks retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Kochenderfer's United Methodist Church. Arthur enjoyed gardening, watching the NASCAR races, running his electric trains and especially helping Elsie babysit his grandchildren when they were growing up. Practically every day in the Spring, Summer and Fall you would find him planting and tending their beautiful flower gardens. He and Elsie loved visiting the area nurseries trying to find unique plants to add to their flower beds. He also enjoyed collecting new ceramic animals for his flower gardens. He is survived by his daughters, Karen F.L. wife of Dennis Williams and Karla M. wife of Michael Nicholas; sister, Naomi McHenry; grandchildren, Jenna Grimes, Lindsay Nicholas, Daniel Nicholas, Alec Williams; and his beagle, Bart, all of Lebanon. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his half brother, Irvin Leffler and half sisters, Alice Love, Mary Schraeder Minnie Becker and Pearle Seashotz. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. Viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, E. Hanover Twp.
