He and his wife Mary Frances (Morris) Lehman were married for 55 years, prior to her death in August of 1995. John was a great man of Faith, holding membership at the Annville Church of the Brethren, where he learned a valuable life lesson, to be a man of your word, which he carried with him throughout his many years. Retired from Hershey Chocolate Company in 1983 after 36 years of service, certainly influenced his love of chocolate candy and ice cream, insisting on having four, half gallons in the freezer at all times. He was very proud of his property, keeping his yard cut immaculately, and cars in impeccable shape. Above all else, he was a man who was completely devoted to loving and caring for his family. He is survived by four daughters, Vesta M. Clark wife of George of South Annville Twp., Janet A. Lasher wife of Raymond C. of Annville, Carol E. Harnish wife of Guy T. of Troy, Sharon L. Weaber wife of Llewlyn M. of Lewes, Del.; a daughter-in-law, Joan Lehman of Annville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Firestone of Pocotello, Idaho. He was predeceased by a son, Leroy E. Lehman; sister, Bertha English; and brothers, George Jr., and Phillip Lehman. A funeral service has been scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 with Rev. James Beckwith officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
