Light, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born Friday, December 31, 1915, in Lebanon County, to the late Harry and Alice (Geib) Light. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna Mary (Bell) Light; his son, Earl E. "Bud" Light; and his daughter, Roselle L.Plebani. He was employed by The Hershey Company and in 1958 was elected to the position of Business Manager for Chocolate Workers Local Union 464. In 1972, Earl was appointed by former Governor Milton Shapp to the PA State Labor Relations Board, where he served as the Board's Secretary and later Executive Director. In his "retired" years, he enjoyed driving school bus for Derry Township School District. Earl was a long time member of Spring Creek Church of the Brethren in Hershey, where he served as a Trustee. Earl was an avid Pittsburgh sports team fan, including the Pirates, Steelers, and Pitt Panthers. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and dining out at his favorite restaurant, Shady Maple. He is survived by a brother, Adam Light and wife, Florence of Palmyra; a sister-in-law, Helen Light of Allentown; a daughter-in-law, Millie Light of Hershey; a son-in-law, Gabriel Plebani of Hershey; grandchildren, Joseph Plebani of Hershey, Gregory Light and wife, Kathryn of Macungie, Carol Midock and husband, Michael of Mechanicsburg; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, and Jacob Light, and Luke, Anna, and Emma Midock; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Spring Creek Church of the Brethren, 335 E. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033 with the Rev. Dennis Garrison officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery. There will also be a viewing at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W.
