M. shabodeho@aol.com February 5, 2011, 1:24 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on January 30, 2011 Cora Limmroth MOBILE, AL Cora Graby Limmroth, born February 21, 1917, a native of Annville, and a resident of Mobile, Ala., since 1951, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011. She was the wife of Weldon E. Limmroth. A graduate of Annville High School and Lebanon Valley College, she received a B.A. degree with majors in Latin and French and minors in English, History, and Social Studies. Cora taught Latin, French, and Social Studies at Warwick Township High School in Rothsville. During World War II she worked summers at Indian Town Gap Military Center in the office of Transportation Corps Training Center. It was there she met her future husband, Weldon, and they were married after WWII. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school classes for many years, served on the church council, was an active member of Lutheran Church Women for more than 50 years, was a member of the Opti-Mrs. Club and served as president and long time treasurer. She was also a member of the Mobile Auxiliary Power Squadron; life member of the Women's Club; member of the Azalea City Women's Club; the German Society; and a member of a panel that discussed Great Books of the Western World. She also was an assistant, along with two other mothers, to a Girl Scout Troop of 21 girls from Brownies through the seventh grade and assisted with a Cub Scout Troop. She set up a scholarship fund at Lebanon Valley College for needy students. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon E. Limmroth; a son, Ronald Eugene Limmroth; parents, Mr. And Mrs. Amos Graby; twin brother, Henry Long Graby; and sisters, Emily Graby Seward and Mildred Graby McConnell, Jr. She is survived by a son, Gary Weldon (Sheila) Limmroth of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a daughter, Karin L. Limmroth of Paris, France and New York City; a brother, Charles L (Lillian) Graby; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and several great- great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mobile on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin St., Mobile, on Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
