Loy, Sr., 88, Lebanon, died Monday, June 27, 2011, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Catherine M. Hoke Loy. He was born in Luray, Va., on July 28, 1922, a son of the late Samuel and Daisy Prince Loy. He was retired from Olmstead AFB; the Philadelphia Marine Supply Depot and the Lebanon School District. He was a Purple Heart recipient having proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a participant during the Battle of the Bulge with the 99th Infantry Division, Company "C". He was a member of R. Field and Stream; Lebanon Rifle and Pistol Club; Kittatinny Rod and Gun Club; Heidelberg Rod and Gun Club as well many other local outdoors organizations. He is survived by a son, Francis S. Loy, Jr. and wife, Bonnie L. Loy, Myerstown; grandchildren, David L. Sutton, Lebanon; Nicole Zehring, Myerstown; great-grandchildren, Marisa and Mikey; brother: Dennis Loy, Va.; sisters, Thelma Rothgeb; Erma Leake; Doris Legg, all of Virginia; several nieces and nephews; as well as longtime friends, Darryl and Kim Cox. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Loy. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, where a viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to the time of service. Interment with full military honors will be made in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
