  WILMINGTON, DE Charles W. Mariani, 82, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011, in 
  Christiana Hospital. Mr. Mariani was a supervisor in the account and material 
  handling dept. for the DuPont Company, retiring after 31 years. After retiring, 
  he was a crossing guard for New Castle County for 10 years. He was a member of 
  the Delaware Saengerbund, the New Castle Moose Lodge, #1578, the Italio-
  Americans United, the Hershey Italian Lodge, the Delaware Accordian Club, the 
  Lutheran Luncheon Club, the DuPont Retirees Breakfast Club, and the Annville 
  (PA) High School Alumni Association. The family would like to thank the 
  physicians and staff of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and the Christiana 
  Care Health System Trauma Center and Cardiac Care ICU for their care for 
  Charles. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean E. Mariani; his 
  daughters, Terry Kitchen and her husband, Carl of Mt. Airy, Md., and Rita 
  Landgraf and her husband, Kurt of Centerville, Del.; three grandchildren, Sarah 
  and Christopher Kitchen, and Lauren Smith; and three stepgrandchildren, 
  Christopher, Shawn, and Mark Landgraf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 
  on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, 
  Hockessin, Del. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may visit with 
  the family on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Doherty Funeral Home, 
  3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek.
