M. shabodeho@aol.com June 19, 2011, 10:08 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 17, 2011 Imogene Mays QUENTIN Imogene "Jean" Mays, 86, passed away in the Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday, June 16, 2011. She was the wife of Rodney J. Mays to whom she was married 50 years. She was born in Cleaton, Ky. on August 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Claude and Victoria (Shadowens) Roark. Mrs. Mays was homemaker. She attended Olivet Nazarene University where she became an ordained minister. Her ministry was on the streets and prison in Bradenton, Fla. Jean volunteered in the local Jubilee prison ministry. She was a member of Grace Chapel in Elizabethtown. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, David M., husband of June E. (Copley) Gleason of Akron, Ohio; daughters, Corliss Jean Petry of Manheim, and Janneetta C., wife of Larry C. Klink of Lebanon; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by a son, Stephen J. Gleason, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc., 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon 17042 with Pastor Luke Weaver of Grace Chapel, Pastor Glen Esler Chaplain at Cornwall Manor, and Pastor Mary Ellen Beckman, minister of visitation for the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, officiating. A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Quentin Cemetery.
