  LEBANON Alex J. Messner, 14, passed away in the Good Samaritan Hospital on 
  Saturday, February 26, 2011. He was born in Lancaster, a son of Christopher L. 
  Messner and stepmother, Sally Lucus of Sumerset and Michelle K. Mitchell 
  Messner and stepfather Todd Connor of Lebanon. Alex went to Hershey Middle 
  School and currently Palmyra Middle School, where he was in the 8th grade. He 
  was greatly helped by the Children's Miracle Network in Hershey and Make a Wish 
  Foundation in Lancaster. Surviving are his parents; brothers: Brandon, Cody and 
  Dylan Messner; sisters: Hannah Messner and Hailey Connor; maternal 
  grandparents: Dianne Mitchell of Palmyra and Thomas Mitchell of Kittanning; 
  maternal aunts and uncles: Judy Mitchell of Frackville, Kristen Holms of Ill. 
  and Joshua Mitchell of Middletown; paternal aunt and uncles: Brenda Schneck of 
  Lebanon, Brian Messner of Lebanon and Wayne Messner of North Carolina; and 
  several cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alfred 
  and Gloria Messner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 10 a.m., in 
  the Rohland Funeral Home Inc., 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with pastor Dave 
  Swift of Zion E.C.C. officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the 
  time of the service. Interment will be in Schafferstown Cemetery. The family 
  has asked to please send memorial contributions to Michelle Messner, 1416 Elm 
  St., Lebanon, PA, 17042 to defray the funeral expenses.
