Miller BATON ROUGE, LA A former resident of Hill Church Cleona, Louie Margaret Miller, 89, wife of Leon P. Miller, died on Friday, November 4, 2011, at her home in Baton Rouge. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late spring. Eldest of four daughters of Allan B. and Ethel (Hathaway) Warren, Louie was born in 1922 in Epsom, Surrey, England. She served in the WAAF - the Women's Auxiliary of the Royal Air Force - during WWII in ground-to-air communications. She met her future husband, a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, in 1944 and they were married April 30, 1945. She came to the U.S. in April 1946. They lived in the Lebanon area until 1965. Leon is a former farm editor of the Lebanon Daily News. Louie became an American citizen in 1955 and voted in every general election, and most state and local, since then. Keenly interested in politics and the world around her, she had strong beliefs in personal and public responsibility, discipline, and integrity. Louie loved growing things, reading, travel, British TV dramas (with a "nice cuppa tea"), needlework, golf, crossword puzzles, hummingbirds, butterflies, and best of all , her family. Survivors include her husband, Leon; daughters, Diane Kirk of Summerfield, Fla., and Wendy Myers of Baton Rouge, La.; grandchildren, Lisa Thompson of Brandon, Miss., Jessica Kirk of Coral Springs, Fla., Diane Fancett of New Orleans, La., Donna Fancett of Baton Rouge, Claire Burge of Denham Springs, La., and Carly Roubique of Baton Rouge; and great-grandchildren, Valerie, Lexie, Ally, and Brooke Burge. Also surviving are sisters, Vera Baker of Canada, and Mabel Warren and Jessie Warren of England. Arrangements were made by Renaissance Services, Gonzales, La.
