He was the husband of Esther Mae Harnish Nolt, to whom he was married 48 years. He was born December 18, 1939, in Lititz, a son of the late Paul S. and Esther B. Oberholtzer Nolt. John worked as a farmer for many years and retired from Rigidply Rafters, Inc. of Richland with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Richland Mennonite Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children, Sharon, married to Dale Witmer of Richland, Rose, married to Harold Shirk of Womelsdorf, Margaret Nolt of Shippensburg, Darlene, married to Marvin Dueck of Olar, S.C., John Mark, married to Kaylene Schrock Nolt of Perkins, Okla., Steven, married to Yvonne Zimmerman Nolt of Manns Choice, Gary, married to Rosetta Auker Nolt of Lebanon, Timothy, married to Ruth Auker Nolt of Myerstown, and Jeffrey Nolt of Myerstown; 28 grandchildren; two great- grandsons; brothers, James Nolt of Ephrata, David Nolt of Stevens, and Daniel Nolt of Lancaster; sisters, Mary Nolt of Lititz, Lois Landis of Lancaster, Ruth Keener of Brownstown, Esther Mae Boas of Manheim, Anna Reeser of Strasburg, and Miriam Ginder of Lititz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Luke O. Nolt. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the Richland Mennonite Church, 399 N. Race St., Richland. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairview Mennonite Reception Center, 141 Jackson Road, Lebanon.
