Norton, Medical Corps, USN (ret.), died on November 20, 2011. Dr. Norton was born and raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1950. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine in 1958, interned at Bryn Mawr Hospital for a year, and was then commissioned a Lieutenant in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy. He served aboard ship for a year in the Western Pacific and then entered an Anesthesia residency at Naval Hospital, San Diego, Calif. He eventually specialized in Pediatric Anesthesia. During the latter part of his Naval career, he was a special consultant to the Surgeon General, an adjunct professor at George Washington University, and President of the Military Anesthesiologist's Society. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; three children; and threee grandchildren. Capt. Norton will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on March 5, 2012, with full military honors.
