Jackson "Jack" Otto, 84, formerly of Lebanon, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, in Cornwall Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Jean E. Ulmer Otto, with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in June 2010. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Clarence C. and Reba Marquis Otto. He was a retired pastor serving the churches of the Central Penn Conference at Centre Hall, Winfield, Hanover, Middletown, Dillsburg, and Lewisburg. After retirement, he served churches in Morgantown, Kauffman United Methodist Church, North Annville Twp., and most recently was the Assistant Pastor at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lebanon, for nine years. Jack was a graduate of Hepburnville High School, Lycoming College, and the United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. While in college he served as a student pastor and at Caesar's Creek during seminary. He held his membership at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lebanon, served on the Board of the American Red Cross in Hanover, and he volunteered at the Cornwall Manor Health Center. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Jo Ann, wife of George W. Brewer of Lebanon; a grandson, Jeremy W. Brewer and wife, Megan Nelson of Lititz; two great-grandchildren, Caiden and Lonna Nelson; and two sisters, Joan Tietbohl of Williamsport and Marybelle Terry of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Otto. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 26, at 1 p.m. from the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
