  MYERSTOWN Irene M. Peffley, 91, of StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown, formerly 
  of S. Broad St., Myerstown, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Good Samaritan 
  Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Ammon W. Peffley, Sr. to whom she was 
  married 73 years on November 25, 2010. Born in Lebanon, on October 14, 1919, 
  she was the daughter of the late John T. and Catharine (Schlegel) Hartman. She 
  was a 1937 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and was a member of New 
  Beginnings-Grace Brethren Church, Myerstown. She volunteered for 15 years in 
  the kitchen of the Prescott Fire Co. and enjoyed sewing, crafts, needlepoint, 
  reading, baking, cooking, and traveling. In addition to her husband, she is 
  survived by daughters, Kathryn M., wife of James R. Firestine of Myerstown, and 
  Theresa A., wife of Wayne W. Aites of Richland; son, John C., husband of Kathy 
  Peffley of Illinois; daughter-in-law, Colleen Peffley of Mechanicsburg; eight 
  grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry, husband of Virginia 
  Hartman of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death 
  by a son, Ammon W. Peffley, Jr. in 1989; daughter, Josephine Peffley in 1945; 
  and a sister, Dorothy Sattler. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 
  2011, at 12 p.m. from New Begininngs-Grace Brethren Church, Myerstown. Viewing 
  Tuesday 11 a.m. at the church. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 
  Annville.  Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the 
  arrangements.
