Piergallini, 96, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, in the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville. He was born in Lebanon on September 25, 1915, a son of the late Sante and Maddelena (Nepi) Piergallini. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey and resided at Country Meadows of Hershey. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wives, Velia Schiavoni and Frances Rossetti and his brother, Guido. Surviving are his four children, David, Carl, Paul Piergallini and Lois Filingeri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. John was a graduate of Lower Merion High School and in later life took courses at Drexel and Penn State. He and his brother owned the former Old Fashioned Ma's Bottling Co. in Lebanon. He served on the board of directors and was President of the Penna. Bottler's Association. He served his country during WWII as a civilian superintendent of a Army Air Force military warehouse. John served his community as a Derry Township Supervisor in the 1970's; was a volunteer ambulance driver for many years; helped established the Derry Township Recycling Center; volunteered at the Hershey Public Library; was an adult leader of St. Joan of Arc Boy Scout Troop 108 for 25 years; co-chaired the Building Committee for St. Joan of Arc in 1960; and taught oil painting at the Mohler Senior Center in Hershey. A Mass of Christian Burial was privately celebrated in his church on Saturday, November 24, 2011, followed by interment in the Hershey Cemetery.
