Plummer, 69, formerly of Lebanon, died Monday, December 26, 2011, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born November 2, 1942, in Lebanon, the son of the late Herbert C. Plummer and Madeline Lewis Plummer Miller. On March 23, 1992, in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, he married the former Kathleen F. Gampher who survives. He was a 1960 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the President of Steitz Savings and Loan, Lebanon, currently Northwest Savings Bank. He retired as the President of the Lock Haven Savings Bank, previously known as the Lock Haven Savings and Loan. He was currently serving on the board of the Jersey Shore State Bank. He was a franchise owner of two Rita's Italian Ice locations in the Lebanon area. He was a member of the Dunnstown United Methodist Church, where he had served on various boards and committees. He also served on the Clinton County Revolving Loan Board, and was a member and past president of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce. He was a member and past president of the Lebanon Rotary Club, and was a member of the Lock Haven Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. Most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepfather, James D. Miller of Myerstown; two sons, John P. Plummer (Mary) of Mohnton, and James E. Plummer, Jr. (Holly) of Annville; one daughter, Jodi L. Wagner (Patrick) of Palmyra; two brothers, Raymond L. Plummer (Judith) of Lebanon, and Randy A. Plummer (Sheila) of Richland; two sisters, Donna L. Weikel (Allen) and Penny A. Plummer, both of Lebanon; two aunts, Doris Plummer and Betty Englehart; and seven grandchildren, Emilee V. Wagner, Spencer P. Wagner, Addie G. Plummer, Olivia C. Wagner, Anthony J. Plummer, Macrae C. Plummer, and Adam J. Plummer. Memorial services for James E. Plummer will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Dunnstown United Methodist Church with the Pastor Roger Yoder officiating. A memorial service will also be held in the Bindnagle Lutheran Church, 801 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra 17078, on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Bindnagle Lutheran Church Cemetery, Palmyra. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven 17745.
