Queen, 44, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011, at her parent's home, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born in Greensburg, on October 15, 1966, daughter of Kenneth and Eloise Seltzer Queen of Annville. She worked for the PA Dept. of Health, in the office of Public Health Preparedness as their Distance Learning Coordinator. While living on the West Shore, she was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was involved in the children's church and Bible School. While at her parents' home she attended the Bunker Hill Evangelical Congregational Church. She received her diploma from Northern Lebanon High School's in 1984 and graduated from Bloomsburg University, with her Master's Degree in Speech Pathology. She enjoyed photography, visiting museums, learning about local history, hiking, gardening in her back yard, Hershey Bears hockey, and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers along with the Penguins. In June 2010 she participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Harrisburg and in September of the same year completed the Undy 5000, a brief run/walk to fight colon cancer, which took place in Philadelphia. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her boyfriend and "life coach", Larry A. Mort of Arch Rock; Abigail, her trusty beagle companion; and her many family, friends, and co-workers who meant so much to her. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Bunker Hill Evangelical Congregational Church, Rt. 72 North of Lebanon. No viewing. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown, is handling the arrangements.
