  PINE GROVE Charles J. "Charlie" Reed, 80, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, 
  at his home. Born on February 3, 1931, in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late 
  Elmer F. and Cora E. Marks Reed. Charlie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran 
  Church in Pine Grove. He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School. Charlie was 
  an Army veteran of of the Korean Conflict having served with the 121st 
  Transportation Truck Co., as a Cpl., activated through the Penna. National 
  Guard. He received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze stars and the United 
  Nations Service Medal. He would attend the group meetings of the 121st 
  Trucking outfit from Korea and was a member of the Pine Grove V.F.W. Post 
  3432. Charlie worked as a Crane Operator for Alcoa Aluminum in Cressona and 
  Lebanon. He was a member of the Brookside Gun Club. He loved fishing, hunting, 
  golfing and gardening. Preceding him in death were a brother, Warren Reed; and 
  three sisters, Arlene Griffiths, Helen Keely and Grace Koehn. Surviving are 
  his wife of 58 years, Virginia Lash Reed, one son, Gary and wife Michele Reed 
  of Pine Grove; daughter, Audrey Anspach of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; two 
  grandsons, Christopher Reed and Nicholas Reed; and one brother, Carl W. "Doc" 
  Reed of Pine Grove. Services will be held at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 
  on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. Interment 
  will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be a 
  viewing in the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday from 10:30 to 
  11:30 a.m.
