Reist ANNVILLE Janet Marie Monismith Reist, 81, of 55 Kindred Place, formerly of Cleona and Lebanon, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2011, in her residence. She was the wife of Harold A. Reist, with whom she celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in September 2011. Born in Lebanon, on March 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert R., Sr. and Lillian R. Watkeys Monismith. She retired as a secretary from Meyer Oil Company, Cleona, and was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for First National Bank, Lebanon. Janet was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School and served as its class secretary since 11th grade. She was a member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona, where she served as the Church Librarian, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school, and was a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon. She was a 40 year member and past president of the Lebanon Valley Hiking Club, Keystone Trails Association, Boy Scouts of America, Baloney Stompers Wandering Club, Inc., Lebanon County Historical Society, Appalacian Trail Conference, and the Good News Club. She also served as a Girl Scout Leader. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, James R., husband of Jeanne Reist of Cleona, and John A., husband of Shellaine Reist of Palmyra; daughter, Marilyn L., wife of Ronald W. Altmann of Aurora, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gilbert R. Monismith, Jr. and wife, Jeri of Deatsville, Ala.; and a sister, Lois, wife of Luther Wolfersberger of Camp Hill. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert B. Monismith, and a sister, Lillian M. Monismith. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave., Cleona 17042. Interment will be in Kochenderfer's Cemetery, North Lebanon Twp. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville, and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
